Jacquelyn Ellison

Jacquelyn (Matel) Ellison, 61, formerly of Columbus Junction, peacefully passed away on May 11th, 2024, in Omaha, Nebraska.

A graveside service and burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 24th, at Cedar Memorial in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Following the service, a celebration of her life will take place from 2-5 pm on Friday, May 24th, at the Wagon Wheel in Washington, Iowa.

Jackie was born on June 8th, 1962, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to James and Patricia Matel. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Iowa and dedicated 17 years as a load-out supervisor at Iowa Renewable Energy. She found joy in playing bingo, listening to classic rock, and embracing new adventures.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her two dearest friends, and two beloved grand-dogs.

Jackie is survived by her daughter, Samantha (Heidi) Brown of Omaha, Nebraska, her brothers Frank Matel (Cathy) of Marathon, Wisconsin, Paul Matel of Indianola, Iowa, and Mark Matel of Dubuque, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a local animal or children’s charity in Jackie’s memory are appreciated.
