following a long battle with Pancreatic cancer. Kim was born on May 16, 1965 to Fred and Lois
(Connell) Shedeed in Gordon, Nebraska. She attended Gordon Elementary School then Gordon
High School. Kim spent many years in the insurance industry and was a great asset to each of the
agencies she worked with throughout their many moves in the military. Kim graduated from St.
Martin’s University in Lacey, WA with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.
Kim met Greg Ford when they were children and Kim’s mother would babysit Greg. Greg likes
to tell how he fell for her when she made him a cake in her Easy-Bake Oven. Later, when they
were in high school, they re-connected and fell in love. This began a great romance that would
last almost 42 years until her passing.
Kim married Gregory J. Ford of Gordon, NE on July 17, 1982. Once married Greg joined the
U.S. Army and Kim became the perfect Army wife, helping and supporting Greg throughout his
career and caring for their children Wessly and Zackary. At each of their stops throughout their
28 years in the military Kim always took great pride and joy in making each of their houses a
loving home. She somehow managed to balance mothering the boys, working, attending college,
and keeping a beautiful home. Kim was very proud of her boys and her family brought her great
joy. Kim was loved by many and always found great friends at each and every military
assignment location.
Kim also enjoyed cooking, baking, and her flower gardens and was very accomplished in each.
She absolutely loved her volunteer work in Alaska as a Long-Term Care Ombudsman and with
the Beluga Whale Monitoring Program. She loved to fish and enjoyed several halibut and salmon
fishing excursions while living in Alaska.
Kim is survived by her husband, Greg Ford of Omaha, son Wessly Ford and wife Jamie
(Beasley) Ford of Owensboro, KY and their children Mariah and Jamison, son Zackary Ford of
Colorado Springs, CO, sisters Amy Shedeed of Oelrichs, SD and Jennie Shedeed of Chadron,
NE. She was predeceased by her father Fred Shedeed, mother Lois Linehan, step-father James
Linehan, and her grandparents Chris and Viola Shedeed and Gene and Lorna Connell.
A memorial service for Kim will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, April 19, 2024 at John A. Gentleman, Pacific
Street Chapel, 14151 Pacific Street, Omaha, NE
