Omaha

Mark Olson, age 56, of Odebolt, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, May 14th, 2024, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE after battling cancer.

An open house Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 25th at 3:00 pm at St. Martin's Catholic Church hall in Odebolt, Iowa. Family requests everyone dress casually.

Mark Allen Olson, the son of Carrol and Claudia (Flogstad) Olson was born on March 3, 1968. He grew up in Odebolt, Iowa and graduated from Odebolt Arthur High School with the class of 1986. He received his degree from DeVry University. Mark worked many places throughout his life as an electrician.

In 2004, Mark married Heather Blum in Manilla, Iowa. Together they built a family. This was the beginning of his greatest journey as Mark was blessed with four amazing children, Hunter, Connor, Meadow, and Sorrn.

Mark had many talents. There were few things that Mark could not fix, build, or bake. If you knew Mark, there was nothing he wouldn't do for you. He taught his children how to be decent humans. Memories will be filled with video games, movies, family Christmas, Halloween decorating, school field trips, Valentine box building, camping, and road trips. Mark was a proud member of ABATE and H.O.G. Life on two wheels led to friends, rallies, rainstorms, and a lifetime of stories. He will be missed for his smile, his hugs, and his random knowledge. He was known for always having whatever was missing from your life or project.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Carrol and Claudia Olson and his father-in-law, Frederick Blum.

Left to share his stories are his wife, Heather; his children Hunter (Alexi), Connor (Madyson), Meadow, and Sorrn; his mother- in- law Marlene Blum; his brothers Dan (Teri) Olson and John (Carla) Olson; his wife's family Tim (Joan) Blum, Dave (Chris) Blum, Joan Blum, Andy (Lori) Blum, Jean (Brian) Fletcher, and Al (Tami) Blum. Uncle Mark left behind his nieces and nephews whom he loved more than words can express. In addition, he left behind the family formed by years of friendship and anyone blessed to have shared the road with him.

Mark could never be forgotten or replaced. You know what I mean?
